Description

At the Almudena Grandes school, the involvement of users with architecture is sought. It favors the coexistence of the teaching staff and the administration of the center around the central courtyard.

Through the use of chromatism, the relationship of children with their classroom is enhanced. Each classroom has a color with which students and teachers are identified.

The courtyard communicates with ramps the two existing levels in the center. In this way, the building’s implementation is adapted to the topography and solar collection is facilitated for the classrooms and administration spaces.

A general design is established from the criteria of the passive solar architecture (capture – solar protection), seeking maximum energy efficiency for a moderate climate, such as the one of the site.
