Description
The Casa de la Cultura is an emblem for Benalmádena, which houses not only the assembly hall, but also the offices of the deputy mayor. It presents a construction of marked Andalusian style, highlighting its interesting patio around which different units are located and the Assembly Hall (located on the ground floor), whose renovation is the objective of the project.
For this reason, a project is proposed that will solve the needs program established by the City Council and modernize this scenic space of a building that has a unique typology and exceptional architectural value in the historic center of Arroyo de la Miel.
A respectful design with the existing building is established as a premise for the project, where functionality and pure lines are improved. The proposed solution is to create an interior envelope like a second “skin” with a wooden finish and acoustic characteristics that bring modernity, comfort and warmth to this auditorium.
The envelope, designed for optimal acoustic conditioning of a space of these dimensions and geometry, will sew the architectural language of the existing building with the new performance through the presence of wooden slats that create the interior envelope and a study of indirect lighting to Through the fissures that separate them, they create a suggestive, elegant and moving atmosphere adapted to the different shows that make up the activities of the center.
The rest of the project’s actions, such as updating the lobby before the auditorium, renovating the changing rooms and adapting the existing facilities at the Casa de la Cultura, will be in line with the previous premises.
