The house conceived as a machine. BiodomoticsIt is an energy rehabilitation of a farmhouse with high requirements for indoor air quality, use of ecological, safe and odorless materials.
An isolation of natural cork using the SATE system is designed as an improvement to the building envelope. As an active measure, solar air collectors are installed that project air inside the house at a temperature between 15-40º above the outside temperature during winter solar hours. This added to the high insulation of the house allows ventilation, heating and dehumidifying the house in a 100% self-sufficient way providing a thermal jump of about 5º inside the house in winter.
Once the comfort temperature has been reached or during periods of heat, the control panel with built-in thermostat has been programmed to invert the system so that from the fans of the solar collectors the hot and stale air is extracted from the high parts of the house and through bidirectional extractors fresh renewed air from the outside is provided by the low areas of the north facade.
